What's Included

Contract Review & Drafting, item by item.

Every engagement is scoped to what you actually need. These are the matters Eight Law handles most often in this area.

Contract review

A clear read on risk, in plain English.

  • A prioritized issues list: what matters, what's standard, what to ask for
  • Redlines with explanations you can share with the other side
  • Review of liability, indemnity, IP, payment, and termination terms
  • Quick reads on routine agreements

Contract drafting

Agreements written for your business, not a generic template.

  • First drafts that put your terms on the table
  • Reusable templates for recurring deals
  • Amendments, renewals, and extensions
  • Termination and notice letters

Negotiation support

Moving the deal forward.

  • Talking points for your negotiation
  • Negotiation directly with the other side, if you prefer
  • Closing out open issues and final versions
When To Call

Signs it's time to call.

How it's billed

Many contract reviews and defined drafting projects can be quoted as a flat fee once we see the document. Extended negotiations are usually hourly with an estimate. Regular contract flow fits an outside general counsel retainer.

How engagements work

  • You've been sent a contract and the deadline is close
  • You keep signing the other side's paper
  • A deal is stuck on a few clauses
  • You need a template you can reuse with every customer
  • Something has gone wrong and you need to know your rights under the contract
The Process

What working together looks like.

Direct access to your attorney at every step — no hand-offs, and scope and fees agreed in writing before work begins.

More in the general FAQ, or email info@eightlaw.com.

Which contract clauses matter most?
Usually liability caps, indemnities, IP ownership, payment, and termination. See contract clauses to watch.
How fast can you review a contract?
It depends on length and complexity. Tell us your deadline when you send it, and we'll tell you up front whether we can meet it.
Can you review a contract that's already signed?
Yes — to explain your rights and obligations, or to plan an amendment or exit.
Will you negotiate with the other side for me?
Either way works. Some clients want Eight Law at the table; others prefer guidance behind the scenes.
